FHE – Nature

Last night it was Sasquatch’s turn to teach Family Home Evening, and she gave a lesson on nature.

Sasquatch, you may know, is three – so she needs plenty of guidance in giving lessons. My favorite part of FHE when she is in charge is planning them with her. I thought it would be fun to make a video, so we did!

It was a lot of fun to talk with Sasquatch about nature. We also had fun walking around in the desert, and she loved being in charge.

After making and editing the video, we ate dinner and watched it together as a family. We all enjoyed the video so much. Little children bring such tender love into the home. I love having the little ones “in charge” of FHE. Even though we didn’t really learn much about nature – we did accomplish the purpose of FHE: we spent time together in an uplifting way. During FHE our love for one another grew.

What did you do for FHE? Make sure to check out what Jocelyn did over at her blog.

  1. We’re going through the “For the Strength of Youth” pamphlet for our family home evenings right now. This week it was the section on family. Basically, we’re reading the new version (including the scriptures it suggests), comparing the differences in it from the old version, and having a short discussion on the topic. Short, sweet and simple – just what we need.

    1. That is a great idea. My oldest turns twelve next year. I think incorporating For the Strength of Youth will help her to understand standards, and be a great way to have good discussions as a family. Thanks for sharing!
